My baby. She just started kindergarten yesterday, didn't she?
I'm just so proud of her, I could burst. No, she didn't win any fancy awards for having the best grades, nor was she a safety patrol, nor did she have perfect attendance. She did struggle, and find her strengths, and learn about people, and make some good friends. She learned to play the recorder, She developed an attachment to her teachers and to her school, and was an eager participant in the annual All-County Art Show every year since second grade. Most of the office staff knows her, she has been supported and loved by so many people, and she has been recognized for her unique talents and interests.
I am so grateful to everyone who put in hard work and had patience and thought outside of the box when it came to educating Kira.
Kira and her fifth grade teacher, Ms. Diamond.
Kira and her mentor, Mrs. Gregory (and Kira's dad in the background).
Two more half days of school in this year, and then it's ON TO MIDDLE SCHOOL!! Providence Middle School, here she comes!
I still can't believe it. And I'm still so proud.
Love you, honey. Congratulations!

Yay Kira!
