I took Kira and Bethanna to see Happy Feet this afternoon, and it was terrific!!
The music was outstanding -- I love when good songs are taken and re-arranged and made into big dance numbers (think, Moulin Rouge), and since I am a HUGE Savion Glover AND a HUGE Robin Williams fan, this was just a fantastic movie for me. The girls absolutely loved it too, and Kira and I tap-danced for two hours when we got home.
If you have kids under 5, then a couple of scenes will probably be a bit scary, but overall, the story was great. I loved the character voices, too, and even Steve Irwin had a small part as an elephant seal. Who knew they had Australian accents??
Anyway, Kira and I thought it was a lot of fun, and I could watch dance numbers like those all day long. We'll have to own that movie when it comes out on DVD.
The rest of my weekend was fine; lots of errand-running and stuff like that. I think we have acquired all of our outdoor Christmas decorations for this year. None of them will get taken out of the box until the calendar changes over to December, however. I do not start Christmas until we're actually in the month for it. And in looking around at the neighborhoods and the malls, apparently I am in the minority with that opinion.
